The state will offer guided tours this summer of the Carissa Mine Mill House at South Pass City, location of a gold-rush during the turn of 19th century.
The South Pass City State Historic Site will offer the tours each Saturday and Sunday in June, July and August.
The Wyoming Legislature purchased the Carissa Mine in 2003 and added it to the South Pass City site. Curators reconstructed the old head frame and trestle in 2008.
Site officials say they plan to install a 19-ton ball mill and other gold recovery equipment this summer.
The tour will take visitors through the mill and explain the development of the mine from 1870 to the late 1940s.
Tours are limited to 20 people and reservations must be made with the Historic Site.
